While there are 30 fitness tracking activities available (including running, biking, hiking, weights, and so on) the Steel HR Sport also features “automatic exercise recognition” so even if you forget to activate it, it’ll track your workout.
Withings’ companion app will also offer Fitness Level assessments, including a VO2 max measurement, which calculates “the heart’s and muscles’ ability to convert oxygen into energy during physical exercise. The fitter the individual, the higher the VO2 max,” Withings said in a blog post. That data will be used to optimize training objectives.
At the end of the day, sleep tracking will provide users with a “Sleep Score” that’s based on sleep duration, depth, regularity, and interruptions.
It’s water-resistant up to 50 meters and has a battery life of up to 25 days, beating the new Apple Watch Series 4, which still boasts only an 18-hour battery life.
